Why we Should Vote
By this time in the election cycle, I
am so tired of the constant talk about who is going to win. Why don’t we just
wait for the election and see. I have never understood the incessant obsession
with polls. I know I have mentioned this before, but it is just something that
drives me crazy. Do people really change their minds in the last couple of days?
What can a candidate do or say to make you vote for the other guy? I have no
Idea, but as frustrated as I get with the news, I always vote! In fact I will probably
vote tonight with my absentee ballot. I need to look at all the propositions
with a discerning eye, many propositions are written to hide their real
intentions. But the most important thing to do is vote.
I hear so many people say that our
vote does not count, and it may seem that way at times, but if you don’t vote
you will never be part of changing what you think is wrong with the way government
works. Our founders found a way to give the power to the people who are governed
and we need to participate in the process. We get one vote and we should never
give that vote away by not using it. You can vote for whoever you want, I have
even voted for myself as a write in just to protest the choices, but I still vote.
Remember Proposition 13 and how it
was belittled by so many before it passed, now the same people who said it was
a bad law, say they love it. This is the type of change that comes from people
working hard and all of us voting to make it happen. I admit that I often
scratch my head at the people who run for office and win, but we can change
that too. The power is with all of us, it sometimes just takes time. Our State
and our Country are like a huge Air Craft Carrier, and trying to turn it around
takes patients.
As investment property owners in
Orange County Ca. Voting is so important to protect your rights. The last thing
you want is government stepping in and controlling our business. You have to
make sure you vote for people who understand how important it is for you to be
independent in your business. It is very difficult to be a landlord today with
all the rules that need to be followed, the last thing you need are more restrictions
on the way you conduct your business.
The California Association of Realtors is
always fighting for your rights, and it is important for you to understand that
we are very concerned for your rights. In fact the California Association of
Realtors is going to start a new program informing us of Legislative fact that
will give us the information we need to keep up to date on laws and proposed
laws.
The most important thing is that
whether you are in Orange County California, or somewhere else in the country, don’t
forget to vote. It is important for you to get your opinion herd and it is the
only poll that counts.
