Is This Time of Year
Best to Buy Large Appliances
With Holiday Sales starting to ramp
up, is this a good time to replace old appliances. We all know the worst time
to buy Large appliances is when the one you have is broken. Not having time to
shop around is the best way to over pay, so with that being said are Holiday
sale prices an incentive to pull the trigger, if you know your large appliance
is on its last days.
In my business of Property Management
in Orange County Ca. I am always looking for ways to save my clients money. If I find that appliances at their investment
properties are breaking down, I want them to get the best price for
replacement. Most large appliances last a very long time, although personally I
seem to go through dish washers at an accelerated pace.
Researching this topic, it seems that
there are many different opinions on the best time to buy, in fact I found that
different months of the year are better for certain appliances then others. The
consensus seem to be that all Holiday sales are good times to buy large
appliances and this time of year, Thanksgiving and Christmas may be better for
appliance packages.
The best advice though, is that if you buy last year’s model,
that is where you get the best deal.
All the bells and whistles are a
great way to over pay. How often do you buy an appliance that seems to be able to do
everything, but most of those features you will never use. I used to buy
appliances that had all the new features and I found that I never used 90% of
the new features and also the more complicated the appliance the greater chance
of breakdown. Now I like the simple technology. The most important feature for
any new appliance is the energy savings you will receive in replacing the old
appliance.
My conclusion is that there are deals
to be had any time of the year. The trick is trying to get the appliance
delivered and installed at a low price, sometimes even for free. Being that I
am in Property Management in Orange County California, you would think that I
would have enough experience to replace my personal appliances before they
completely break down, but I wait until I am in need. What I do is go around
and find floor models that may not have a box, or have a dent in a place that
will never be seen, but still carry the full warranty. I have been very lucky
in finding very good deals. I have not had so much luck going to outlet stores,
and will never go to one again.
you are probable like me and wait until the
last minute. The good news is that there is so much competition out there, you
can get good deal as long as you can take a day or two to shop around and with
online shopping, it is much easier then it used to be.
