Super Nonsense!
One week
before the Super Bowl and people still want to talk about the deflated Foot
Ball. This is probably the dumbest so-called cheating incident I have ever
heard. Let me say this one time, the New England Patriots did not cheat. I am
sure that most teams allow their quarterbacks to have the Football the way they
want it and the NFL knows it. Why do you think they allow the teams to bring
their own balls? And why do you think the teams even have access to the balls
for 2 hours before the game? And why do you think the Referees did not find any
irregularity in the ball during the game even though they touched the ball at
least 100 times in the first half? The answer is clear, they all know that
teams deflate the balls or inflate the balls depending on how the quarterbacks
like it. And all these players who say that’s
not true are not telling the truth.
Let’s take
this to the extreme. If the rules are to be followed to the letter, then if a
receiver go after a ball and he tries to catch it but it bounces off the ground
and into his arm. To everyone it looks like a catch, but the receiver knows it
hit the ground. The Referee calls it a catch. Should the Receiver tell the Referee
that it hit the ground? The rules say that if the ball hits the ground it is
incomplete. Isn’t the Receiver cheating if he does not come clean?
What about a
pitcher in a baseball game, the Umpire throws him the ball and he notices that
the seams of the ball are unusually raised which could cause the pitch to have
more movement on it and make it tougher for the Batter to hit it. Should the
pitcher throw it back to the umpire to make it fair to the Batter, even though
the pitcher likes the raised seams?
How about
when the grounds keeper of Football home team allows the grass to grow a little
higher to slow down a fast running back, or a grounds keeper for a home
baseball team who tapers the foul line towards foul ground due to the fact that
the visiting team has a great Bunter on the team and they want to allow the
ball to roll foul a little easier. Is this cheating, or gamesmanship?
In
Basketball It is well known that teams have let air out of the balls or
inflated balls to the liking of the home team players.
Sport teams
have been trying to get an advantage against their opponents ever since the
beginning of competition. The Referee, and Umpires are there to keep the game
fair and these Referees and Umpires know that teams will try and fool them
every game. If the gamesmanship in the Referee or Umpire’s opinion is out of
line, then they will stop it, but they are the Cop on the beat and it is their
job to police the game, not the players.
There is an
old adage in sports “If You’re Not Cheating, You’re Not Trying” I would change
it a little and say, “If You’re Not Bending the Rules, You’re Not Trying.
Every Team
and Every Player tries to get away with bending the rules and sometimes they
get away with it, and sometimes they don’t, but they are not cheaters. The only
thing that Tom Brady did wrong was try and say that he knew nothing. What he
should have said, was "the Ball felt great" and when that stupid Reporter asked
him if he was a Cheater, he should have said, “NO, I Am A Winner” and held up
his 3 Super Bowl Rings.
I have some
advice for those reporters who think they have a big story. I know many of you
are Jealous of Tom Brady, because you think he has it all. You think that he is
too good looking and of course he is married to a Super Model. And then there
are those pesky Super Bowl wins that he has. Well get over it. I will direct my advice to the Male reporters
since I am a Man. I know you guys think that since the Super Bowl is in Arizona,
there is nothing for you to do, so this Nonsense story is keeping you busy. I
played Baseball in College (Fresno State) and played Many times in Arizona and
I can tell you that there are Many Beautiful sights there, if you get my drift,
so my suggestion to you is, find yourself one of those beautiful sights to
admire and enjoy yourself behind some Cactus and forget about this Nonsense
story. In the end, the Super Bowl will go on and New England will play in it.
