Our Business is Property Management in Orange County California
It must be Done Today
When I talk to any sales person and they give me that all
too often line, “This Offer is only Good Today” For me the conversation is
over. Now I understand how important the “Call to Action” is, but I refuse to
be pressured into anything. I feel that if you have a good product or service,
you should have no problem allowing me to think about it. I also understand
that many times if you let people get away, even if your product or service is
great, catching people in the moment is so important in making the sale.
In my business of Property Management in Orange County Ca. I
never pressure anyone and I understand that I may lose some business because of
this decision, but I would rather lose business than have someone pressured to
sign a management agreement. If I can’t
convince someone to become a client with my company, without pressuring them, I
have failed.
The other thing I dislike when I talk to sales people is the
“Up Sale”. When I am lured into a store or when I call about a service and the
sales person downplays what I am asking about and pushes the next price level
product, it drives me crazy. A recent example of this for me, is I hired a
marketing company to help me with marketing my Property Management in Anaheim Ca. Company. The companies name was
Yodle. (I would never recommend this company) I signed up at a price, and every
time I called wondering why no progress was made, they tried so sell me another
product. It drove me crazy and I finally came to my senses and fired them. The “Up
Sell” is pushed by many companies, but to me, it is another turn off.
Why can’t you just be what you advertise? That is the
question I have for any company. When you buy an Apple product, you know what
you are getting. They don’t need to “Up
Sell” you and people sleep in the street for days to buy their new products. Why
can’t every product or service be that way? Having choices is great, and a
company that gives you choices can be good for consumers, as long as the
consumer understands that the lower priced product may not give you the results
you desire. So often in business a company lures you in with the lower priced
product, knowing you will be disappointed and it will be easy to get you to upgrade.
But they never tell you this plan, they often leave you with the impression
that you will still be happy with the low end product. Be up front with your
Customers or Clients and you will have less complaints and more satisfied people.
