Closing a Sale
To a Realtor, closing a Real Estate transaction is a great
feeling, you go through a grueling escrow process, some more grueling than
others. And then you hear those magic words that it had been recorded. What a
great feeling that is. Selling Real Estate can be a very rewarding career, but
it can also be a very frustrating way to live.
When I first started my Real Estate career, I noticed that
the majority of people in the office, complained about the business. They
complained and complained. They never seemed to do anything, but they talked to
each other all the time and the few people who seemed to do good business, I
rarely heard them complain and they spent little time in the office. I wanted
to find out how I could be successful so I went to a Real Estate seminar and I
saw a man yelling and screaming about Real Estate. Most of what he said was
obvious, but the one thing that he said that made sense to me was in order to
be a successful Realtor, you need to get out of the office and work. There are
many ways to work, but you need to find out how you want to attract business
and do it every day as if you were punching a clock.
I realized that day, that all those people who were spending
their time complaining about the business, never realized that they needed to
work at it in order for the business to work for them. The other thing that I
learned in the seminar was that if you had one transaction going, then you were
going to be a nervous wreck until that transaction was closed, but if you had
multiple transactions at a time, then you were not going to be so frustrated if
on fails. The point was that Real Estate was no different than any other
business, the more you put in, the more you will get out.
Getting back to closing a transaction. After the Escrow
process, nerves can be frail on all sides and the closing of the deal is a good
time for everyone to calm down and realize that the process might have been a
tough one, but like I always tell people, keep your eyes on the prize and in my
business of Property Management in Anaheim Ca. the closing of Escrow is the
prize.
