What happened to the paperless society?
The more I sign up for paperless everything, the more paperwork
I get and I don’t understand it. As I have mentioned so many times, I love In N
Out Burgers, but when you place your order they give you two receipts and then
when you pick up your order, you get another. This makes no sense since I don’t
even need one.
There is no reason that receipts can’t all be sent to an
e-mail or text (even though I refuse to text). When I go to my ATM, the receipts
gets sent to my e-mail and whenever I order on line, my receipts go to my
e-mail and for receipts that are important, the e-mail is there always and you
can always recall it if necessary. All the paper receipts that I get end up lost
somewhere and often when I need them, I can’t find them.
There is no reason in today’s technology hungry society that
we are not paperless.
In my Business of Property Management in Anaheim Ca. I
try very hard to do all my paperwork over e-mail. It is easier for me and my
clients to keep their records strait and it saves space. I can save everything
in the cloud and pull it up whenever I need it, wherever I need it and that is
not only easy for all, but it makes sense.
Whenever I get my car repaired, they hand me all kinds of paperwork
that I stuff in my back pocket and then throw it away. When I go to the store,
I get a long receipt and on and on. All this could easily be sent to me via
e-mail and that would save my back pocket from too much expansion.
Now I am the first to complain about using too much technology
in our lives today and I hate to see people who have their face in their phone all
day long, but being paperless is a good use for technology and it is not even
that technical.
I have never had any of my clients since the use of e-mail
became mainstream, ask me for a hard copy of anything and I know that most
people feel like I do when it comes to paperwork and receipts, so let’s all
make an effort to remind the businesses that we frequent to go paperless to
make all our lives better and cleaner.
