Time is to be respected
When I first became a Realtor, I was surprised how people
seemed to have no respect for my time. They would make an appointment and not
show up, or show up very late. When I would call, the most frustrating thing
was that they seemed to have no care that they wasted my time. After a while I
did a better job of making sure to the best of my ability not to waste my time
on people who had no respect for me.
It does really come down to respect, and when somebody waist
your time they are telling you they have no respect for you. The sad part is
that it seems that more and more people have no respect for time and with
texting, they can just send a message that they are going to be late without
talking to the person that is waiting for them. Now I live in Southern
California and the traffic can be an issue, but if you have lived here for any length
of time, you know you need to plan your trip with traffic in mind.
I am crazy about being on time, and if I am just a little
late it drives me crazy, I hate to have people wait for me, but the funny thing
is that when I am a little late, I am still there before the people I am supposed
to meet.
Time is important, because the time that is wasted can never
be retrieved. The one thing you can’t do is turn the clock back and recapture
the time you lost. In my life, it drives me crazy when I think about how much
time I have wasted waiting for people. In my Business of Property Management in Orange County California, when I have an appointment, I wait
10 minutes and I leave unless I get a call and a good excuse for the tardiness.
I think that it is fair for anyone to not want to waste their life waiting for
people who have no respect for them and in business, you only want to do
business with people who respect your time, even if they don’t respect their
own.
