Looking towards the New Year
I never look forward to New Years Eve. The New Year to me
brings lots of paper work and that is not my strongest suit. The new year also
changes many terms for Tenants and making sure that those Tenants understand
what the new year brings is another part of the new year that I don’t look
forward to, but it is going to happen, so I don’t try and fight it, I try and
get as much done before the new year comes as I possibly can and that way I don’t
stress about the calendar ticking away.
Tenants need to beware
Tenants also need to heed the problems of the New Year and
make sure they don’t spend their rent money on Christmas gifts. Many Tenants
are facing rent increases when the New Year comes and those increases come
quickly and even though they know the increases are coming, they can still
sneak up on them.
The Grinch of January 2nd
In my business of Property Management in Orange County Ca. I can’t be forgiving when the New Year comes, believe me, I
would like to give the Tenants a grace period, but doing that is not feasible and
will not be done. The New Year will be troublesome for some Tenants and they
need to hunker down now to get ready for the increases in rent that is just
around the corner.

Most of us will have a good feeling when it comes to the
Christmas season starting with Thanksgiving and ending with New Years Eve. But
just because we may be of good cheer, January 2nd will be business
as usual and that can bring out a few Grinch’s that may have been hidden during
the Christmas season.
