What
does the New Year Bring for Investment Property Owners?
With the election over and interest
rates going up, how will these events affect people who own rental Property and
Real Estate in General?
Interest rates are going to rise, and that will have an
impact on buyers who are on the edge of being able to qualify for a loan. On
the other hand, buyers who have been holding out may now feel the pressure to
buy before rates go up even further. I don’t really anticipate much change in
the market and with that, rents will continue to rise as long as demand out
paces supply.

There may be some change for
buyers, though with the new administration eyeing regulations in the banking
industry that make it much more difficult for many to qualify for a loan. If
those regulations are diminished, it may bring about the ability for more
potential buyers to qualify for a loan. That may cut into the demand for rental
property and stabilize rents, but only time will tell what will happen
2017 should continue to be
lucrative for investment property owners and there may be some growth potential
in the commercial Real Estate market if business friendly policies are
implemented by the new administration. If tax policy is made more beneficial for
small businesses, then there may be more start ups and that will increase the
demand for commercial space.
We all will have to watch what happens in the next couple of months to
be able to determine what moves if any we should make in the Real Estate
Market, I know that in my business of Property Management in Orange County Ca.
I am getting questions from my clients about the coming year and I recommend to
wait and see.
